Must have at least one year of horse-handling skills.
Physically be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be on your feet all day.
We are filling two positions one full time and one part time.
Part-time Tuesday-Saturday, approximately 20-25 hours a week and 35-40 hours a week for Full-time.
Responsibilities will include:
Pull, tack-up and prepare horses for lessons and special activities Assign appropriate volunteers to assist with horses and/or arena duties Problem solve and assist therapists as needed Long-line/ground driving horses during hippo-therapy treatments and during special activities Maintain tack and equipment, tack rooms cleanliness and organization Other duties as assigned Lesson Treatment Assistant Core Competencies Able to lift 30 pounds and assist with mounting and dismounting with proper body mechanics Demonstrate proficient skills or interest in learning TRT Method, join up, work in hand, ground driving, lunging, and long line lunging as checked by our Equine Specialist Strong interpersonal skills a must to work with a variety of people Manage multiple priorities in a busy environment Possess above average attention to detail Able to give clear direction to volunteers and educate them properly Job Types:
