Job Description

Great sales position available at successful company. We sell subscriptions to our database that contains historical economic data for every country in the world. Our "data series" goes back hundreds of years and is very comprehensive. Our data is used for various research projects, building stock portfolios, tracking various stock indices, etc.
Our client base includes major banks, investment companies, universities and exchanges all over the world. We are currently seeking a motivated salesperson to join our team.
We offer $60k base salary and full benefits. Including commissions, a successful candidate should earn $100-200k per year.
- Self-starter and ambitious, ability to make cold calls and close warm leads
- 3-5 years sales experience in financial services
- Ability to travel and national and international trade shows (avg. 6 per year)
- Excellent communication skills and proven record of sales success
- Strong grasp of complex financial concepts and the ability to communicate them
- Understanding of products such as Bloomberg, Reuters or Factset a plus
- Extensive experience selling to C-level executives at top financial firms
- Well organized with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to succeed independently, as well as in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Negotiation experience required
- Computer skills: Word, Outlook, Sales Force, and Excel
- Education: Prefer College Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance/Accounting
- Responsible for generating new sales and upselling existing clients
- Demonstrate expert understanding of company products over the phone and in-person
- Sell new products to existing clients
- Attain aggressive sales targets and quotas on a quarterly basis
- Partners with Account Manager to determine the most appropriate sales strategy
- Identify client needs and offer solutions through the combined use of company products
- Provide web-based demos to prospects and address client questions and concerns
- Travel required approximately once per month to attend trade shows nationally and internationally
- Attend after-hour networking mixers
- Ensure high level of client satisfaction and client retention

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
